Combat Swingweights

WE’VE GOT BAT SELECTION DOWN TO A SCIENCE.

Combat® Swingweights makes selecting the right bat much easier. It’s an exclusive new system based primarily on the fact that different players have different swings, and it’s the first of its kind to allow individual players to optimize their own performance and play.

When measured by hit distance, batting performance relates directly to bat speed, bat weight, and weight distribution within the bat. The faster the swing, the further the hit distance, the higher the performance. Likewise, the heavier the bat with a fixed swing speed, the longer the hit distance, the higher the bat performance.

Only the Combat® Swingweights system recognizes that bat swing speed is determined by two things: the bat’s center-of-mass and the bat’s moment-of-inertia (MOI).

CENTER-OF-MASS: The single location from which the bat’s weight is distributed. A bat whose center-of-mass is closer to the handle will swing faster. A heavier bat whose center-of-mass is further from the handle will swing slower.

MOMENT-OF-INERTIA: The measurement of how difficult a bat is to rotate or swing. A bat with a lower MOI (e.g. balanced) will swing faster. A bat with a higher MOI (e.g. end loaded) will swing slower. A higher MOI bat swung at the same speed as a lower MOI bat will increase hit distance.

Our wide selection of Combat® Swingweights makes Combat the only company that can provide hitters with optimal individual performance. In general, bigger long distance hitters prefer higher Combat® Swingweights bats while smaller, finesse players prefer lower Combat® Swingweights bats.
